Thinking about logic two names come in mind almost immediately: Albert Einstein and Sherlock Holmes. Of course it doesn’t mean that there are or were no other great thinkers in history, but these two are admired and respected throughout the whole world. The most important difference between them is the fact that Sherlock Holmes never existed. He was the hero of the fantasy world, yet he attained what is very difficult for the people of reality - namely, to be outstanding and memorable.
Almost everyone is familiar with the name Sherlock Holmes. Though many have only shallow, superficial information on him: he’s clever, he wears a deerstalker, he smokes a pipe, he investigates crimes. It is also known that there are Sherlock Holmes Museums, and that the detective was portrayed by handsome actors in some adaptations. But it is not widely known what an enormous impression the character had on the world.
Recently several television series were created about the sleuth. It is a true revival of Sherlock. This way Conan Doyle’s hero can reach such young people who are only familiar with tv adaptations and have misleading information (mainly from the media). They do not know yet what a wonder the Scottish author gave graciously to the world. Our sincere hope is that via our small contribution this changes for the better. We would like to please both younger fans and those who know a lot about the topic. You should remember that everybody was a "beginner fan" once, and it is quite hard to filter the tons of information that are accessible on the net nowadays. We try to offer a kind of starting point.
We started this site for those who want to gain information fast. For those who thirst for more detailed data, we recommend our other Sherlockian site, sherlockian-sherlock.com. Ladies and gentlemen, the game is afoot!
